TOTALLY DESTROYING A FM: ADVANTAGE FROM START TO END
Hello everyone,
I finished another game with FM Mr. Fabrice Wantiez.
A friend of mine, @Flickas, asked me to blog about it.
I analyzed the game. FM Fabrice Wantiez (@FabriceWantiez) got crushed miserably. HE HAD NO ADVANTAGE SINCE THE BEGINNING. Since he played the first move, he had literally NO ADVANTAGE. I am having the advantage/edge at all times.
I am not deriding my opponent. As stated before, blogging is a way to save my analysis, and I try to learn from them. Mr. Wantiez played well. Yes, that's vague, but he created a lot of troubles for me and forced me to think very hard.
How?
Simple: He blundered.
Yes, but he played the Grob Opening, and I knew exactly what he wanted to do: Grob Gambit. Attack on b7 and try to trap my rook. So I declined it.
And he was in trouble. After some inaccuracies, he pretty much lost, but held until I checkmated him. I am not going to say he's bad, but I am being very objective here. He did create a lot of trouble for me.
Here's the game.
Takeaways:
1. Play the opening well. CHOOSE GOOD ONES. Grob Opening is an opening, and same is 1. e4. Yet, although being book moves, they are different.
Here's an example of the game with ALL book moves.
Although the four moves are all book moves, white got checkmated in 2.
Seriously.
2. Control the center. You need to either control it or wreck it. You can't let it fall into your opponent's hands. As you can see, white had so much trouble developing because the center was taken by black.
3. Know when to attack. Don't just push, push, push. Sometimes, it is necessary to defend.
This is it.
I hope you have a good day. Please feel free to comment below.
