An Ugly Game/30 Against Montana's Current Champ

Dorje McPherron is the current state champion and the top-ranked tournament player in the state. I am a former state champion who -- after my new rating takes effect in a few days -- will be the second-ranked tournament player in the state. Both of us enjoy playing in the informal weekly club hosted at Bernice's Bakery by Greg "the Octopus" Nowak, a national master/candidate master who now eschews rated tournaments. Dorje, Greg, and I rattle off some very interesting games at these meetings, especially because of the spartan time controls we observe -- Game/5 or Game/30, with no delay or increment (I despise increments because I believe that if you want more time you should program it at the start of the game, but that's a rant for another post).

Tonight Dorje and I played a bizarre Game/30 that I'm not very proud of, other than the fact that I managed to get out of a sticky situation and take a win against the champ. Enjoy.
