Hi!

Feeling overwhelmed and not sure where to start improving your chess?
You’re not alone — most players struggle with this at the beginning.

As a chess coach, I’ve created a structured study program that I use with my students, and as an example of how I work, here is a condensed version: the Beginner Mini‑Course.

This mini‑course gives you clear, simple ideas you can apply immediately.
It’s structured in 6 parts, each one linking to another post on my blog that highlights an essential aspect of the game for beginner players — although intermediate players may also find the material valuable.

In my opinion, beginners would get a general grasp of these topics by playing through master games or practical examples. That is why I have treated them in an Instructive Games Series, covering Opening Principles,  Blunder Prevention, Middle Game Strategy & Tactics, and Endgame Technique. I also wrote two complementary posts on essential topics for early improvement: Opening Repertoire and Time Management.

Here are the topics with their corresponding links:

Think of this mini‑course as a starting point — each topic can be developed much further. If you’d like guidance applying these ideas to your own games, building strong habits from the beginning, or creating a personalized study plan, send me a private message. I work with a small number of students and focus on real improvement from day one.
