Back OTB after 9 years
For the last 8+ years I have just been playing random speed games on chess.com when I was on the toilet or something. I walked into a restaurant in town and people were playing and asked if I wanted to join. a few months later-- I am hooked again. Back to OTB.
As far as this game goes I would sum it up like this: I have never really known any openings in any real way except for maybe the Grob and Bird. I just try to know basic themes and make a unique game and fight to find the best tactics first. I didn't expect to win any games in the tournament but I got lucky and achieved 3 wins and 1 loss playing for my team as board 1. I improved my rating and am now an 1809! I feel I have good streaks and moments but on any given day, I feel closer to a 1600. I am certainly over rated right now. Here is the game I had the most fun playing in the tournament.
