Studying basic king + pawn vs king endgame

Just created my account. Love the site. Now back to studying chess again after a long, long time without practising. But now my 6-year-old boy will need that I hone my skills again a bit so I can help him train, at least at the beginning.

So, right now I am dusting off my copy of Jeremy Silman's "How to Reassess your Chess" (amongst many other books) and also trying to remember basic stuff like basic king + pawn vs king endings. Like this one:
