New Peak Rating! - Part 1
So this is my first blog in a long long long time (18 months) but I'm going to bring you up to speed with what I've been doing these past few days.
In this blog I'll have my last 8 standard games which I've played on my way to attaining a new peak rating of 1295! This is pretty well on track with my plan to get my rating to 1300 by then end of the year.
So without further ado, here is my first game, which after a long battle, lost. (Note: All time controls are 15|10)
His higher rating was really no excuse for such a poor loss. However, onto the next game.
My second game was against a much lower rated opponent, who I won against. Here is the game.
The simplification, luckily, worked out, despite it looking like it may not have there. However, it eventually became obvious that I had the better position, and I rode it to the win.
Next, is the third game, which I was unlucky to lose after an early blunder, which I never recovered from. Here's the game.
Blunders were there throughout the game, but little did I know I'd turn it around from here.
Next is my fourth game, which I won against a slightly higher ranked opponent, thanks to a nice combination of pins at the end of the game. This is my personal favourite. Here it is.
So that's the first part of this blog. Thanks for reading, and come check out Part 2 with my next 4 games!
