Fair Play, guys, Fair Play
I open my computer and I play a game.
I am playing against a guy about 20 points lower than me. That's good,
After 1e4, he played e5, and then I played 2Nf3 and... my clock doesn't stop.
This was in the champion league, and I was winning a lot and I was close to getting to legend league. I had about 500 points and the first one had about 510, so that came to me as a real shock. And then I expected him to move.
But he didn't.
I offered a draw. I thought he would accept it, he still won 1 point, but he didn't.
He waited until my clock was down to zero, I suppose, because after a minute I disconnected of pure rage.
When I connected again I reviewed the game and saw that my opponent had won on time. I had lost 9 points and the champion league. And I blocked him and reported him.
There are some examples of fair play. In a forum topic a guy explained how he was playing a bullet game and his wifi went away. When he reconnected again he was down twenty seconds and with no chance of winning. And to his surprise, his opponent offered him a draw, wich he gladly accepted.
Now after reading this, if this bug happens to your opponent and you can win by time, remember this article and offer him a draw.
That would be fair play.
The facts happened to me two months ago, but I remembered and decided to write it into an article.
