the best strategy for fog of war
I would love to show you my last fog of war game, but alas the pgn was a bit difficult. I should make a meme on that. That's actually a good idea. ok, tomorrow I'm going to make some homemade chess memes. Stay tuned. But today I would like to show you the fog of war opening. Ignore the opponent's moves, they do not matter in the opening
Now I know that the black moves are completely unrealistic, but hear me out. Worst-case scenario, if your opponent plays Bb4+, you immediately block with your bishop. (It is unlikely that they will do this, but it happened to me once. Unforgettable.) However, you need to bring the knight out first because you need to defend that pawn. After you move the bishop, develop the e pawn. More defense. You can now also defensively develop your bishop. After this, you want to bring your bishop out even more, and then you want to bring your queen out. So as you can see, this is very defensive. But with all of my experience, I notice that this position clears the fog (get it? heh.) the most, while no leaving hanging pieces. If you don't believe me, try this strategy out for yourself. Now what to do when you are done with this? Start pushing pawns on the opposite side that your king castled on. Honestly, just mess around until your opponent messes up and blunders a piece. This strategy is incredibly strong.
I think overall, you have to play defensive in fog of war. If you have ever played Stratego, you should know that your scouts, (while expendable) are extremely important. Think of your pawns as your scouts. Leave your bigger pieces for the endgame.
