Dogs need to learn how to play chess

Before I had posted a blog about dogs and chess together. But, can dogs learn how to play chess? They are sure not to know what they are missing! I say that those lab people(and no, I don't mean labrador) should teach dogs chess for an expireament.Are dogs really as smart as they are supposed to be ? (please someone that knows a lab person let me know) I mean, us dog lovers even have some douts things we don't know. (okay Slipper, you don't have to jump in my lap, you're a fulgrown beagle!)
