Firouzja vs Carlen: What happened and What could happen (+ Video)
Hi Caissa’s friends. In the last days of 2019 we had the World Blitz Championship where Magnus Carlsen got the first place and became Triple World Champion. In this competition, in round 19th, there was a controversial situation in the game between 16 years old GM Alireza Firouzja and Carlsen, where the youngest player ran out of time. In this post we are analyzing the FIDE rules around this case and also evaluating what could happen in the position they had on the board in that last moment.
Of course, I suggest you to see the video where I try to explain everything as clearly as possible.

I invite you to subscribe. I will be uploading instructive videos for beginners and intermediate players at least every Monday.

I think it’s also important to say that not all National Federations necessarily use FIDE rules, so, this could be slightly different when we play local tournaments. Keep that in mind!!!
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!!
