How to find and solve more tactics in your games (+ Video)
Of course, tactics are very important in Chess. In all levels we need to keep a sharp tactic vision, it’s a significant component of our Chess knowledge. Today we are analyzing an interesting method to be able to find and solve more tactics in your games, and also when you train with puzzles.

In this method I'm suggesting, we mix things: what we need to do before we start calculating is to find weaknesses or problems in our opponent's position... and then try to target them with checks, captures, or threats.
Of course, this is not something I created. Strong players do this every day, I’m just writing what I think could be helpful for some players.
Typical Motifs or Weaknesses *
1- Weak line or square (as Backrank)
2- Passed pawn at 6th or 7th
3- Unprotected pieces
4- Dependent pieces (attacked pieces depending on the defense of some other piece)
5- Overloaded pieces
6- Trapped pieces
*In the video I used the words “Weakness” or “Problem”. I find them a little more expressive and easier to understand, but basically, they are the same as Motifs.
