How to play King's Gambit (+ Video)
Hey guys, today we study a very interesting opening: King's Gambit. This is a good variation for beginners and intermediate players, who enjoy dynamic and sharp positions.

Highlights about King's Gambit
1) After 2.f4! Black can play three main lines:
- decline the gambit with 2 … Bc5, which seems to be a good option, but White can manage to get an interesting position
- decline the gambit and also play a gambit with 2 … d5, which is interesting, but doesn’t seem to be particularly strong
- and accept the gambit with 2 … exf4, which is probably the best move for Black. White needs to play accurately then, but usually, they can get compensation and entertaining positions
2) In general, the middlegame positions can be extremely dynamic, and sometimes also a little strange, where both players will need to be creative and play as actively as possible.
In this post/video there are plans, general ideas, and some theory. But keep in mind that practice, experience, and learning from your mistakes is what is really going to help you to completely understand a new Opening in your repertoire. Hope this helps!
Good luck to everybody, and take care!!!
Stay home as much as possible.
