Let’s face it…
Let’s face it, ccs (chess.com social) is a problem. It’s a problem for everyone’s real life and I have noticed that. Social does feel like it’s slowly dying as more people realise this and they are having breaks, and this is a problem.
I’ve realised that ccs has been pulling me away from real life and I have been becoming addicted to it. I will be going through the process of trying to get away from it. So I won’t be taking a break but I will be slowly becoming less active. I will stay, but I will try to make it so it doesn’t impact my real life. Obviously we’ve seen this problem with others and I think the solutions you have are amazing. A good example is @F1-24 who recently had a one month break and posted an inspirational thread in cvc. But how do I plan to manage my time on socials? I will be (and I believe this is a good tactic) setting schedules in my mind and on paper with what I want to do. I believe just slowly getting away from it is good, meaning I’ll still be able to talk to all of you and have fun whilst managing my life. Why am I posting about this? Because I feel it’s a problem. Ccs feels just like any other social media platform and does cause problems, I feel, for many. I also feel like the credit of being active is a problem. Being active on socials should not be celebrated, what should be celebrated is peoples irl achievements and what they are able to do. Now I believe this is celebrated but not to the extent. I know I have a problem with socials and this is another reason to write this.
To be honest I am just blabbering but I do believe all that I have said. I hope you all understand what I’m saying,(not that you probably care) and take this into account. Thank you
