The Hurt Heal Times: Week 3

Introduction

Hello and welcome to the 3rd edition of the Hurt/Heal times by BermudanPM. We have had a good game so far (however some have said it’s the worst yet) and we are now down to around 70 players. This week wasn’t particularly eventful but more just narrowing down the amount of players.

The Game This Week

As I noted earlier this week was fairly uneventful, with players just hurting inactive players and healing buddies. However this week, the benefit of mandatory hurts showed as we now have gone under 100 players and we’re starting to get everyone out. All the alliances seem stable, maybe not particularly cooperative but stable. I’m gonna mention one notable thing which is Mjtcan now saying that not everyone will be healed back. Now obviously there are a bunch of people in debt but Mjtcan with no real allies and people healing him once or twice just to do a quick heal trade may have backfired as people may be angry as they want their heals back. I believe this will be the downfall of Mjtcan as, unless you’ve been a long time healer of him, you won’t get any benefit from healing him. I still believe he will be in the top 10 but I think his chances of winning are gone. In other news carlsen is still in a lot of debt but he’s been slowly but surely paying it off but I believe it is cosmic’s strategy that is racing away from the rest. He may be in a lot of debt as well, but he’s been promising protection and a strong alliance, something that no one else except toast has. However, it still seems that no alliance is as cooperative as past alliances and it may get to the point where it’s every man/woman for themselves. Somehow even all the conflicts have calmed down though there should be some chaos going into the late game. Most of what happened is trends sustaining from week 2. We did see dove take over briefly and we got the leaderboard ordered in order from 1st to last. But yeah that’s practically all I have to say.

Interviews

We had 3 interviews this week with some important figures. Bestor wanted an interview again so I gave him the opportunity to speak with more experience now. I also got to interview the interviewer, Author and finally got to interview Toast with an interview that you could tell was done by Toast from a mile away.

Author

Now Author asked for an interview and even though she hasn’t been a particularly prominent figure in Hurt/Heal V I decided to give her the interview cause I needed people and being able to interview the interviewer was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. Here’s what she had to say on the round: “I think it's a lot more tame than the other rounds. There's just...something about this round” She also was talking about how she was doing in the game saying: “I wouldn't be surprised if I never made it near top 10, but maybe the alliances I've unofficially joined by healing the top three will get me somewhere.” She also said that she wants to: “Not get eliminated and make it into the top 20.”

I thought this was interesting especially as despite not worrying about the game too much she’s still got tactics and plans. I guess we will see where this leads her.

Bestor

This is Bestor’s second interview and this one was more insightful as he had a better idea of what he was doing and he is not so much of a new player anymore. This was shown especially when he said: “Im doing great rn, and my goals and tactics are much clearer than 2 weeks ago, in the first week of this blog”

He also explained his position on the leaderboard and his predictions saying: “I’m trying to get top 10, and I'm on a great road to it. I can't believe that the game will already come to an end soon.”

He also gave me a small insight into his opinion on his alliance stating: “Well toasts alliance is the best and that is the one I definitely stick to”

Bestor’s interview was much better than the first and just proved that he’s gaining in experience and skill. I’m interested to see how he goes.

Toast

Now Toast’s interview was funny (simply because Toast is a funny guy). But I enjoyed his insight and what he had to say, especially as leader of one of the main alliances. Something that he did say which surprised me a lot was: “I'm... not managing my alliance just sleep and heal me all day fr”

I wasn’t particularly expecting that as I believed he was running his alliance well but according to him he wasn’t. I had a good chuckle on his opinion on all the alliances. His analogy of the alliances from his perspective: “I heal you you heal me I no heal you back you die thanks for feed"”

I also asked him about his personal position and was again surprised to hear that he wasn’t too happy with it, saying this: “To be honest I feel like I could have gotten a better position, also I think since I slept thru the whole game and missed a lot of days it's not really deserved.”

I enjoyed this interview as it gave me a good insight into a very important player. I did think he was talking about his impact on the game less than it actually was but if this is what he believes then I’ll go with it.

Conclusion

I thought this edition was slightly less interesting than the less as, like Author said, this game has been tame and this week especially. But we are moving closer to the real action and the wars and it will be action packed when that happens. I do have the feeling that something crazy will happen next week but until then, goodbye.
