My Chess Playing Style

For my New Year's Resolution post, I said that I would discover my playing style, and I would find GM's that shared this style.

With my own research and coach's help, I have discovered that I am a positional player, but I have some characteristics of a tactical player. A positional player, like Anatoly Karpov, would usually start a game with a positional move such as 1. d4, as he did in many of his games. A tactical player, like Tal, will find many tactics that win the game in a brilliant manner.

I will focus study on both positional and sharp openings, and I will also review games played by Petrosian, Karpov, Kasparov, and Tal to improve my playing.
