Yes, there is a book with CHESS LAWS.

They call it a " Handbook" although it is only about 5 pages long.

( Wait for laughter to die down)

It might be five pages longer than the Concise Book of Italian War Heroes but it is still just a pamphlet no matter how you look at it.

It would have been even shorter than that but it has 5 pages because it also contains the rules of chess, an index page, a foreword by the president of FIDE and a front and back cover page.

Now humans love laws, the more idiotic the better...like you are still not allowed to shoot a buffalo from the second story of a hotel in Texas.

Humans love laws because it means they don't have to think for themselves.

Ever noticed how those who apply laws cannot think for themselves?

And humans love not to think for themselves more than literally anything else on the planet so they really, really love laws.

This is why the US army, FBI, CIA and Texas is so big, it provides a safe environment for millions of people that do not want to think for themselves.
