2012 Oregon Winter Open Part 2
Round 2 started at about 2:30 on Saturday. I was paired against Mike Morris. He is rated ~2050, and is the Treasurer of the Portland Chess Club. I haven't played him before, but I was feeling pretty good about how I was playing after the first round, so I went into round 2 with some confidence (or at least no trepidation). As an added bonus, I had white, which should theoretically make things easier.
And that was round 2. A relatively short game. It took about 2 hours. Scoring 1.5/2 in my first 2 rounds was about as good as I could have imagined. I felt like a played solid & competent chess so far. But I was starting to get a little fatigued by this point so I was unsure if I could keep my streak alive through game 3.
