Hey ChessKids! June is coming in hot with tons of awesome events, check it out: Ukrainian kids battle Ukrainian grandmasters, the International ChessKid Candidates Tournament 2022 Finals, and exciting in-person events during the Candidates in Madrid!
ChessKid European Team Festival: Ukraine Edition
We're thrilled to announce a special edition of the European Team Festival, in which the team from Ukraine will face off against famous Ukrainian grandmasters!
Tune in on June 13 at 8am Pacific / 11am Eastern / 5pm CET on Chess.com/TV, Twitch, or YouTube. Commentary by WIM Anastasia Sorokina and WGM Anastasia Karlovich.
Regardless of the results, the Ukrainian team automatically qualifies for the Grand Final, which will be held at the end of this year. The next regular match between Italy, Spain, Greece and Bulgaria is scheduled for June 25, 2022. Teams from Latvia, Slovakia, Turkey, and France have already secured their participation in the final edition.
Intercontinental ChessKid Candidates Tournament 2022: Finals
Qualifiers have officially ended, bringing in six mighty ChessKids from the three regionals and two local players to play in the finals.
From June 21 to June 23, 2022, all eight candidates will play in the same room and use the same boards and pieces as the adult grandmasters playing in the FIDE Candidates Tournament!

Candidates 2022: In-Person Simul & Events
Alongside the Candidates Tournament in Madrid, we'll be hosting several other events, including an in-person simul with chess stars, a ChessKid educational seminar, and a meet and greet at our ChessKid booth!
ChessKid Simuls By Chess Stars
Now's your chance to challenge WFM María Rodrigo, GM Eduardo Iturrizaga, and FM Mike Klein (aka FunMasterMike) to an in-person game at the Four Seasons Hotel in Madrid on June 16 at 4pm local time!
Note: We will only be admitting 50 people, so register as soon as possible to secure a spot!
As part of ChessKid's collaboration with FIDE, there will be a special Spanish-language seminar featuring Spanish chess expert Leontxo García and WFM María Rodrigo.
