Chess For Beginners:

Chapter 1: Chess is a classic strategy game that consists of 4 types of units of special characters.

today I will teach you how 1. Chess is played 2. what are the Pieces names 3. Pieces movements 4. Setting up the board and move our way up from there. Now there are chess lessons for this but this is easier accessible now lets get into the blog, shall we.

Also the numbers on the Left side of your screen correlate to the questions.

1.  Chess has been around for centuries upon thousands of decades, up to at most 3 millenniums or 30 thousand years. In India as a royal game, called Chaturanga.

2.  So I lied this is going to be the pieces names and movements.

First up is the pawn

The lines indicate were the pawn can move. The pawn is the least powerful piece in the game.

here as some key things about the pawn

1. On its FIRST turn only it can move 1 or 2 spaces its your choice

2. After its first turn the pawn must go 1 space at a time.

3. The pawn can't move backwards

4. When the pawn wants to attack and remove a piece from the board it must do so only diagonally in front of it, or backwards in any where is not allowed.

5. In the game pieces have point values the pawn being the smallest, weakest piece is worth 1 point. But you get 8 so its 8 full points of pawns.

Next up is the bishop

The bishops are the 3rd most strongest piece depending on who you ask some key things about the bishop are.
1. They can move in both sides of diagonals as far as they want on the board, as long as it is on that diagonal.

2. you get a light and dark squared bishop that must stay on that colored square.

3. Just like the pawn it captures diagonally ONLY

4. its not a PAWN

5. It is worth 3 points

Next is the knight the knight is one of the most trickiest pieces in the game and you'll see why.

Notice the knight creates a barrier so that only 1 square type is unprotected and also that only the opposite color square of the knights square is moveable so in this example the knight is on a dark square so that means the knight can only move to light squares.

1. the knight moves in a L

2. its a very tricky piece

3. Can attack 2 pieces or more at once

4. is also worth 3 points

Rooks are next and well there easy.

Some key things about the rook are

1. Special moves!

2. A dynamically tactical piece

3. only moves in the 4 cardinal directions

4. it is worth 5 points

The queen is next and in most basic terms if you put the bishops and rook together you would get the queen.

Some key things of the queen is.

1. Can move anywhere in the diagonal or in a rank or where the numbers are or in a file or where the letters are.

2. Strongest piece

3. You only get one.

4. worth 9 points.

Finally is the King

or the a very very slow version of the queen

some key things of the king are

1. Special moves!

2. Non capturable

3. Cost you... the ENTIRE GAME.
Next up is setting up the board and lets play a little game. First files and ranks in chess notation a File is used before a Rank it easy to remember because F is before R in the Alphabet *comment if you get the Alphabet joke alpha beta.

now lets start

White has the right setup here. Now lets move on to the special moves.
