LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, BOYS AND GIRLS.

Welcome back to CHESS FOR BEGINNERS.

Today we look at strong openings for white.

Now I am going past 1. d4 and 1. e4 but the openings will sprout from them.

Also I will show the elo (rapid rating) I think suits the opening. Or basically what would be the most best elo for the opening.

Now there is some criteria

1. Is the opening easy to learn?
2. If you played a player rated that elo would it be likely they play that opening?

3. Are the main ideas easy to see at that elo?

Lets get into the blog.

#1: Scotch Game Elo: 100-700

The scotch is a easy to learn opening that is really common (not in master games since it says in the database the Sicilian defense is more common than 1. e5)

The Scotch is a opening that trades a lot of pieces to let out the queen. Notice if 3. exd4 then the following trade 4. Nxd4 Nxd4 (blacks Knight for the second one) 5. Qxd4. and since the c6 knight is now traded off the queen is mostly safe.

#2: Italian Game, Elo: 800-12000

The Italian is a very complex opening based off sacrifices and attacks.

The Italian is a complex opening using aggressive play, while a very common response it is hard to learn because of how many lines their are.

#3 The Caro Kann Defense Elo: 1250-1700

The Caro kann is fine to play at any level but it takes a lot to understand it.

This opening is a very good opening. IF you know how to play it.

#4 Ruy Lopez Elo: NM/WNM (does not matter) to FM/WFM

This opening is very theory based. It can be a good time for players at low elo if there playing black.

And Finally
#5 The Sicilian Defense Elo: FM-GM-WC (WORLD CHAMPION)

The Sicilian is razor sharp. Containing multiple lines and HEAVY theory. Even at 500 elo I don't recommend the Sicilian since it can be very tricky.

Oh, also before I end this blog comment on this what opening do you want to see on my openings series.

Anyways thats all for now

(sry for the late release,)
