What is Titled Tuesday ?

The strongest online blitz tournament played each week on chess.com on Tuesday

https://www.chess.com/events/info/2025-2026-titled-tuesday-grand-prix

It has a new format. In the past, there were 2 tournaments , one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Called Early and Late Tournament respectively. Open to Titled Players, I have played in those a handful of times...

What is the new format ? its a GRAND PRIX, AUTUMN SEASON With prizes every week and also at end of season.

How much do players finishing at the top get each week ?

$1000 for 11 rounds online for first place is not bad.

There is a GRAND PRIX, so every week chess.com counts points to create a leaderboard. the winner of the weekly Titled Tuesday (11 rounds, 5 minutes no increment) gets 10 points.

and the points scoring is as follows

So we are October 8th, there have been 5 Titled Tuesday in this new format ( no increment means more flagging, before 3+1 would allow 1 second increment reducing that aspect)

Who leads ?

So to compute the scoring, you need to know how many times players finished 1st, 2nd,3rd until 8th and sum um points.

This is how it works

Carlsen won the weekly tournament twice, thats 20 points and finished 5th 1 time which gives him 3 points for a total of 23 points

But now I present an analysis of the  top 3 players each week for the Autumn Season

We can see that Hikaru and Magnus finished twice in top 2 places and Alireza finished in top 3 3 times. Duda finished twice in top 3 podium.

We note that Hans Niemann won once, like Sarana.

French players (MVL,Firouzja) did well and USA players are doing well as well.

Not one player from India finished in top 3, maybe the time zone/lag from India is an issue ?

At any rate, Firouzja,Carlsen and Nakamura are the most consistent, but on a given week, Bortnyk or Niemann can create the surprise.

You need to score at least 9 points to finish top 3 and usually 9.5 or 10 points to win 1st place and $1000.

Carlsen has the highest score in the new format with 10.5/11 which is incredibly hard to do considering strong field with probably 100 GMs per week minimum and 400+ titled players.

in a later post, I may consider analyzing amazing games played at top level in this event.

Who is your favorite blitz player ?
