Nova Daily - 13 June 2025: Just the game today
Hi!
Yesterday's events were heavy, and definitely had their effects on my mood and willingness to do much today. It's also one of those Friday the 13th days, and I don't believe in such nonsense any more than I do in horoscopes. Really, a job opportunity presents itself because the newspaper tells you so, and then you suffer from a heart-attack during traffic on your way to the office. Maybe I'll address this one time, because writing astrology is a very specific language skill.
But that's something for another day, maybe. So whereas yesterday's blog had almost no chess, today has almost no story. I just hope that everyone is doing well. I will be fine eventually, even if I'm feeling like trash today.
Just the game today
It took me rather long to get my game started, so Chesscom said: "Taking longer than expected to find a match..." It's actually very reassuring to learn that the Chesscom algorithm reads my blogs as well, but I don't think that there was any need for the website to rub it in. But alright.
My game felt rather convoluted, but in the end it was decided by a simple and very transparent tactic that to my astonishment my opponent fell for.
So, a bit of a Friday 13th kind of mistake for my opponent, but we take those too.
