Hi!

The blogging environment is an absolute gem in the online chess world. There are many interesting stories and anecdotes, many voices that find an outlet in writing, people from many different walks of life. And we find each other in a shared double passion: chess and writing.

Ideas

It happens very often that I get inspired because of something that I read in someone else's blog. I usually have enough inspiration to write my own stories, and I have my ways to invoke inspiration if I find myself in need, so I don't always keep these ideas for myself to work out. I love sharing ideas with other people, and I encourage others to borrow ideas from me if they need. I'm of the opinion that the more ideas circulate, the richer we become.

It is not the richness of materials that is important. It is the richness of ideas.

- Daniel Libeskind

This month will be a little bit differently as compared to the last two months, and you'll be informed in due time. What won't change, however, is that I'll happily be reading the blogs that cross my path. Each and every one of them.

The game

Before I got my pairing at last, I had to wait for about 20 minutes. Since waiting for the game to start took so long, I decided to spend my time with playing a blitz game in-between, and then another. I didn't deserve to win either game, but I won both. My first opponent failed to remain alive in a pawn ending, and my second opponent hung their rook. That happens in blitz, especially blitz with no increment, and you can argue that 3+0 is actually a bullet tempo.

I like 3+0 a lot, but it might be better for my chess if I switched to 3+2. That's a thought for later.

My thoughts during the game:

In this game the point was basically thrown at me because my opponent played some abysmal moves. On three occasions they point-blank lost material because of an elemental trick.

There will be something to look at tomorrow. These lines in which black trades on a3 can be very tricky if black plays it well. This deserves my attention, and having this played against me here is a good excuse to get going with it.
