Nova Daily - 20 June 2025: One year
Hi!
Wihh almost no time to be able to write my blog today, it might be a bit all over the place. So be warned in advance.
One year
Today I've been celebrating my one-year anniversary on the site. Although celebration is a bit too much for what it was: smiled to myself that I've been around for a year. I just hope that they won't make today International Chess Bloggers Day, because that'd be too much of a coincidence. Besides, as I wrote in my bio (incidentally also today), I'm a chess-player first and a writer second.
So, what have I accomplished over the course of a year? Two GM wins (three if you count the Puzzle Battle against Bologan), a lot of degen bullet play, and an overload of text, spread out over more than 200 blog entries. Two of those I've submitted for TBA, and both won a lot of medals.
While there's the occasional lunatic who doesn't know how being a decent human being works, most of my interactions on the site have been great. There are some wonderful people on this site, and knowing them has helped me feel more involved. I think that I'd have continued my journey even if none of my entries would ever have been read by anyone, but I feel significantly less alone in my undertakings. Thank you!
One bit of analysis
This is supposed to be a chess blog, so I'll do a bit of analysis here too.
Thanks again to everyone who reads my blogs, comments, and likes what it is that I do. I never take it for granted and I really appreciate it!
On to another year of blogging mayhem!
