Nova Daily - 27 May 2025: La primavera
Hi!
La primavera
La primavera is Italian for Spring. It's not just the first part of the Four Seasons of Vivaldi, but it's also a piano piece by Ludovico Einaudi. It's a beautiful piano melody that I'd like to share with you here.
As I'm still working on my long blog, I hadn't found time to write much else today either. I did try to get a few games in, but I still played like an idiot. Prep could come in handy.
The only blitz game I won today was resigned by my opponent in an equal position because my opponent failed to see something (and they had more time):
I did manage to retaliate a little bit today, though, but I should've stopped after game 1: the very first game of the day was a bullet win against an IM.
Because of this game I decided to have a look at my current scores against titled players. These games are mostly bullet games, but I'm holding my own pretty well.
GM: 2/7
IM: 24/51
FM: 61/141
CM: 46/105
NM: 45/82
WGM: 0
WIM: 0
WFM: 4.5/10
WCM: 5.5/16
WNM: 0
Total: 188/412
That's a score of approximately 46% against titleholders. Not bad.
However, there's one one glaring statistic that I need to point out: my atrocious score against WCMs. There is a reason why that score is so low: I keep bumping into @VesnaTesting64.
Vesna is the Russian and Ukrainian word for Springtime. It's also the name of a band that performed at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with a song called "My Sister's Crown" which is sung in four languages.
Let the song speak for itself, and note what they display on the telly in the clip.
