INTRODUCTION

The King's Indian Attack is a very puzzling yet interesting opening I know and today I will be teaching you how to play this cool comeback opening.

HOW TO PLAY THE KING'S INDIAN ATTACK

Most beginners in chess are told to develop their pieces towards the center and then attack the opponent quickly, but in the King's Indian Attack we don't do that but instead we allow the opponent to take supreme control over the center and then we attack them in a very sneaky way. Let me show you how. When the game starts we only take out one of our knights like shown below.

After this when black moves in to take control over the center then we move our g2 pawn to g3 ,then our opponent will take full control over the center and we will push our f1 bishop to g2 and then after the opponent's move we will castle and then you will get the position shown below.

When you achieve this position then you need to be careful of the black pawn move pawn e5 to e4 threat and it is a threat as it is threatening to win a knight. To prevent this we can play pawn d2 to d3 giving an extra retreating square to the knight so that if that pawn move is played then we can play knight to d2 supporting the attack on black's e4 pawn. After this all the position you will get will be as shown below.

This position is a good position to be in as there are many ways of attacking black's center and then defeat black easily with development moves like pawn b2 to b3 and after that bishop c1 to b2 along with attacking the black e4 pawn and so on as shown below.

(FOR THE BISHOP DEVELOPMENT)

(FOR ATTACKING THE BLACK E4 PAWN)

REASON I LIKE THIS OPENING

I like this opening because you get an advantage in the middle game as the opponent might think that they have a good game and will defeat you, but instead you actually have a good game and will be able to defeat your opponent. It might also look like the king side is weakened in this opening but actually the kings side is way safer and to launch a strong attack on the king side becomes difficult.
