Lesson Services:
New York City Chess Inc. offers the highest quality of Chess Instruction in New York City. Through extensive research and tested teaching methods, handpicked and trained faculty, and a commitment to excellence, every student receives appropriate instruction based on their individual needs. New York City Chess Inc. students range in ages from 4 – 104 and their chess needs range accordingly. New York City Chess Inc. boasts students, first being introduced to chess, as well as Experts and Masters looking to gain an edge in tournament competition…Along with everything else in between! At New York City Chess Inc. the emphasis is on (chess) fun and growth! Our lesson services are outlined below but be sure to ask about our Citywide Classes, Lectures and Competitions too:

Private in home lessons:
Instruction in the comfort of the student’s home, or convenience of the office, sessions run approximately 1 hour and can be scheduled weekly, bi weekly, or on a “per session” basis. Curriculum is according to the student’s appropriate level and additional “home” work is assigned to reinforce and extend the lesson.

Lessons are scheduled with all level instructors in a private area of the Village Chess Shop Academy, located at 230 Thompson Street, just 1 block from Washington Square Park. Sessions run approximately 1 hour and can be scheduled weekly, bi weekly, or on a “per session” basis. Curriculum is according to the student’s appropriate level and additional “home” work is assigned to reinforce and extend the lesson.
Each Lesson includes One FREE hour of play in The Village Chess Club, to practice new skills.

Chess Buddy Tutoring creates affordability ALL ages and levels of chess instruction. Originally designed for groups of 3/4 friends and competitive Teams who wish to learn and progress together, Chess Buddies has evolved into one of our most effective, social chess learning tools. Curriculum is developed for the appropriate level of the group. Group play and competition, further allows the group to grasp learned concepts together. Sessions can take place at the student’s home or at the Village Chess Shop Academy.
