Chess beauty

It has been said that Chess, like art, has the power to make men happy.

It also has the power to piss me off big time.

I can stare at a position FOREVER and still not see some of these combinations that seem obvious when I'm shown them. I used to feel it almost ruined the win for me when I'd play through the game again and see a missed mate earlier in the game.

All too easily I dismiss these combinations as something "only a master would see". Well, this blog is for those weekend warriors who are ... like Gufeld... searching for their Mona Lisa. These are very cool combinations I've seen played by online (non-titled) players. Players mind you that I am convinced play with high ethical as well as tactical standards and I don't believe use computer assitance. Though, I tend to give everyone the benefit of the doubt when it comes to cheating.
