Killer king: a mysterious award

Hello everyone, you have probably looked at the award section and say Oh, how I would love to have all those different achievments but then you get closer and BAM! Some achievments are almost impossible like getting your account into loads of different tech brands and some of them are crazy like solve 10000 puzzles correctly. Some of them my be continuations of other achievments. This just shows how determined you've got to be to get all the achievments, but what if I told you that chess.com wasn't showing you all the possible achievments.

These are known as mystery achievments and only appear after you have completed the task. Pretty crazy right? You know what's even crazier? THE LOW TAPER MEME. But seriously. There are a group of achievments called the killer achievments. From queen checkmates straight down to pawn checkmates but there is no sign of a king. This is because it is a mystery achievment and is very hard to get.

Getting it is even harder than discovering it exists because to do it there are two very different methods.

1. Castling, I know, doesn't sound like it poses any threat until you remember this. The king and rook swap around so the rook is moving past the king and in some very rare situations that can be a killer king checkmate because the king was the piece that moved.

2. Discovered attack is a much more obvious one than the first method. Let's say there is one of you rooks behind your king and the black king is in front of you and can't move. If you move your king away from in front of the rook, the black king will instantly checkmated and that would be another way to get killer king.

P.S. Remember that you can ask your friend to let them get checkmated in a friendly non-rated game.
