New here and to Chess

Well Hello,  I am new to chess.  What a wonderful game. 

When I was very young (50 years ago) I learned the rules about what move each piece could make.  Yet I never learned about passing a pawn and still don't understand that move. I will learn.

This looks like a good site and I am a supporter ($) here.
