Qatar Masters 2023 Day 1
Hi all !
As many of you know, the Qatar Masters 2023 started today!!
The Qatar Masters 2023 is a 9-round Swiss, held from the 11th to the 20th of October in Doha, Qatar.
As one of the strongest chess tournaments in the world, the event features super grandmasters Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamura and Anish Giri among other famous players competing for a total prize fund of $108,250.
Time control is 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, with an additional 30 minutes for the rest of the game and a 30-second increment from move 1.
So today I am only going to analyze the top 3 boards' games.
So lets get started!
BOARD 1
GM Magnus Carlsen VS IM Srihari L.R.
In this game, Magnus had played the game perfectly after Srihari 's risky approach in the middlegame.
BOARD 2
GM Hikaru Nakamura VS IM Vantika Agarwal
In this game both sides had played good moves but made a few innaccuracies until in move 28,
Vantika blunders and plays f5 and Hikaru punished it and played perfect moves.
BOARD 3
GM Anish Giri VS IM Rohit Krishna S
It was a really tense game!!! Both played perfectly until move 31 when Rohit blunders and gives advantage ;however, Anish also gives away his winning advantage in move 40 but then Rohit makes a blunder again in the endgame.
