Barely Floating Above the 1500 Line
I had to take some time away from chess to prepare for a conference, and on my return I was quite out of form. I lost the first game after coming back and sinked down the 1500 line, and then barely pushed my head above it for a breath by winning the second. But even in the game that I won, the quality of my play was alarming. Apparently my problem with missing one-movers remains, and I'm going to have to work on that.
I annotated the two games in detail, mostly verbally, and at times tried to give you (and myself) a picture of the mental/psychological processes that I thought were going on. Here they are for your pleasure! Hope they have some instructive value too.
