Things Started to Feel a Little Easier Lately (Knock Wood!)
I've prioritized study of master games some time ago, and I think slowly but surely I'm getting the returns. The effects are rather internal than external for the time being, that is, there has not been a great jump in my rating or perhaps not any significant improvement in my overall game strength yet, but I find myself in positions where I have no idea what to do less and and less often.
It is nearly impossible to show how that 'sense' materializes in a single game, so I will not even try, but I'll say this much: in this last game I played at the Slow Chess League, I was paired with an opponent slightly higher rated than me, and although I did get over-intimidated with a looming kingside attack, I always 'had something to do'. When my opponent misstepped, I managed to utilize some nice tactical opportunities. Here's the game with my analysis:
I appreciate feedback, so you are welcome to drop comments about the game and the analysis. Cheers and good chess!
