Some thoughts.
I've been working at reframing a few things.
I was losing a game earlier, and feeling the tilt and anger set in. My opponent had mate in one.
I considered mashing the resign button, but played on on the off-chance he didn't see it.
Seconds later, he had mate in one again. I was past caring by then and just waited for the coup de grace.
He failed to spot it AGAIN, and also kindly blundered a rook.
I caught myself still being annoyed and having some mild tilt symptoms such as being overly annoyed about losing a pawn. I was up material, but I didn't earn it!
Then it occurred to me: Not simply rolling over and resigning is a skill. Not rage-quitting is a skill. Keeping my head is a skill. I did earn it.
I won that game, but I'm more interested in the lessons learned here.
