Smart vs too smart

There is slight but crucial difference between smart and too smart. 

• The smart player will face complex situations with elegant solutions. Not degrading current situation and having a long term plan. 
• The "i want to make a brilliant move" player will try something that looks super smart. Yeah... For sure... As soon as the opponent deals with it, it was ... not that amazing. 

There are just a few brilliant moves in a game. Especially when we made an opening error, we feel like a sacrifice may still improve or save our situation. It sounds weird that a super brilliant move would save a situation that sounds already like s... something not good. 

To me, there is some ego in the process. When we get better, we feel like we master some great moves. Usually, we don't. Yet... So, let us stick to basic and efficient. At least, I'll try !
