Speaking about fathers, did you know that Magnus Carlsen’s father was so important to him to become who he is?
His father Henrik not only taught him to play chess, but he even took a lot of risks to make Magnus rise. In 2003, Magnus took a year off school to participate in chess tournaments joined by his family.

When you see a champion, we should also acknowledge those that were supporting them from the beginning.
In today’s video, I’d like to analyze a very nice game that Henrik played against none other than his son! Although Magnus was just a 9-year-old kid, he was already starting to develop as a strong chess player and Henrik won the game convincingly. Henrik played a lot of nice attacking and sharp moves to outplay Magnus.
