Pushing the H-Pawn in the Opening – A Trend You Need to Know

The idea of pushing the h-pawn early in the opening is becoming more and more popular. Normally, pushing h4 as White (or h5 as Black) in the opening might not sound attractive as the h-pawn very often protects the king when castling short.

However, there are some potential advantages like activating the rook, either with a hook, or with a rook lift.
