I never been in Latvia, however today I was "invited" to play the Latvian Gambit in a 30 minute game.

  1. e4 e5
  2. Nf3 f5

It has been a wild ride, I won but the game seems like an interminable puzzle as described by a dutch GM:

What is required to play the Latvian Gambit with any degree of success is a sharp eye for tactics and a mental attitude of total contempt for whatever theory has to say about it.

Indeed, the Latvian gambit is one of the most aggressive, although dubious, opening in Chess for Black.
