My Fifth OTB Game for my Club - my FIRST LOSS!! :(

Yesterday on 1st December 2011, I played my fifth otb game for Didcot chess club, and I lost. I didn't just lose, I lost to a lower-rated player. I shouldn't have lost... but I made 1 terrible blunder that cost me the game - but one that I believe not many people of my playing strength would have spotted. But I made countless inaccuracies and mistakes throughout the game. To say I was not on form is an understatement... Here it is Foot in mouth

So I lost... but the loss certainly hasn't been taken to heart. Because in the grand scheme of all things chess-wise, I'm only just starting out. I'm still the member of my team who has scored the most points this season - and I'm the "newbie"!
I had won 3 in a row, which at club level is an achievement in itself anyway, but now I have my first loss, so 3.5 points out of 5 I have gained - 3 wins, a draw and a loss - which isn't bad at all.
The loss only makes me want to play chess even more! Continue to improve, put in the work to becoming a better player - and beat him next time LOL! My next match is in 6 weeks I think, and I will be spending a lot of time over Christmas learning and playing chess, ready to hopefully gain another victory for me and my team in the new year. So until then... Wink
