What I don't get

Chess talk... I don't know what the letters and numbers mean. I can figure it out if I try hard enough but for the most part it just baffles me. And when there is a long list of moves I don't even try, it's just to confusing to me.

This is what I've gotten.

The first letter is always about the piece. Q-Queen K-Knight P-pawn, etc. I'm not quite sure what that x means but the next letter it the column and then the number after that is the row. Am I right so far?
