My session with coach Dane
Hi guys. In my second blog post, I will describe my coaching session with coach Dane hosted in chessable classroom. As you know, it was hosted on 30 May at 7:30 pm ist. The session lasted for 1 hour.
At the starting of the session, he talked about tension. He said that we should embrace tension as it creates opportunities for both the sides to win the game. He told an example of a variation in exchange French defense. Later he also showed some model games to demonstrate this concept.
Later he talked about endgames. He showed examples of some fundamental strategies in rook and pawn endgames. He talked about the rook's position while promoting a pawn. He told that rooks should be on the back of the pawn in order to be an active piece and help in pawn promotion.
He later showed how psychology plays an important part in these endgames. He discussed how hard is it to do nothing in some endgames especially in faster time controls. He also said that we should not lose our hope in chess games and chess improvement.
Hope you enjoy my blog post. If anyone has doubts please post it in the forum or comments section.
