my chess journey...
hello everyone, hope you're doing well, this blog is a little different from the previous ones, because it's not about other players, it's about me!
So please support and tell me what your thoughts and PLEASE give me some tips to get better, thank you^^
a little bit about me:
name: Raha
last name: Isapour
age: - (teen)
nationality: Iranian
the first spark
I remember playing chess since I was just a little girl, I played and I enjoyed it but I didn't compete professionally, so when I started going to school, I had to many things to do and I stopped playing chess, fast forward to a year and 4 days ago, I was in Dubai for vacation, and my cousin told me: can you play chess?, and I said well it's been more than 10 years that I haven't played, but I still remember, but what I didn't know was that he has been playing chess for a long time, and I probably didn't stand a chance, but even the smallest chances should be taken, so we played...
of course, I lost all of the games (my dad got my revenge though😁), but that actually made me interested in chess, I promised myself to learn chess so that I can win with ease the next time I see my cousin (he lives in Dubai so we don't see each other a lot), and that, was the start of my journey...
learning from the best
I searched in YouTube and the first video was one of @Gothamchess videos and I started watching it, when the video ended, I was laughing really hard, but I had learnt a looot of things as well, thanks to levy rozman, I could play chess...
I made this account on august 17th 2024, that's when I got back from vacation, and I started playing, I remember I lost my first few games, but eventually, I won, and it felt sooo good, that I couldn't stop playing, and I kind of got and still am addicted to chess (good addiction though) and I can't imagine my life without it...
so this is my first EVER game on chess.com:
if it's not possible to see the game I've posted above, this is the link to my first ever game that I lost on chess.com
so the first EVER game that I played ended in a draw, and as they say: "a chess game played perfectly is always, a draw".
getting better
I started learning more and more, I subscribed to chess.com YouTube channel, Take Take Take, and all of levy's channels to make sure I have many resources to learn, laugh and have fun (and I had to make sure that I get notified and will be able to watch the GM matches and all other tournaments too).
so I started gaining ratings and defeating much higher rated players than me and I got to my peak elo of 894 elo (I know it's not much, but it's only a year or so that I've started sooo...), I've never had a coach, and I learn most of the things from gothamchess, and from some of the free chessable courses available .
so I recently I've been tilting a little and I've lost nearly 70 elos or so BUT, I won a game against a 1300 and I'm really proud of it:
again if you can't see the uploaded game, hear is the link to one of the games I'm most proud of
my dream
I know it might be a little late to start, but I really do dream of being a titled player, so I am trying hard, and I'm sure I will get what I want someday, thank you for staying this far, hope you enjoyed, and as levy always says: "now get outta here"
special shoutout to:
@GothamChess ,levy rozman which was, is and I'm sure will be my biggest motivation and inspiration in chess, I've learnt a lot from him and I hope to be able to meet him one day and tell him I'm sure you will be GM, that me and probably looots of other people in the world are so proud of him for trying this much and we are sure he will make it ^-^
p.s: this blog might be updated soon (:
