Successful performance in Stein's memorial
Last week the "Stein's memorial" was over (rapid, 10 min + 5 sec).
The line-up was really decent - many national CMs as well as NMs + 1 FM + 1 IM + 1GM (average rating of top 10 players - 2328).
This tournament was extremely interesting for me as one of my students, CM Alexander Smolkin was playing there
Alexander played well, was quite stable, and led from the first to the last round.
As a result, Alexander scored 7.5 points out of 9 and took deserved 1st place (won the cup + medal + prize $).
Alexander just recently achieved success in "online" chess (several goals that we had set internally in our classes) and now have another significant success (but this time in the "live" tournament ).
Congratulations to Alexander on this outstanding achievement
From Alexander's games, I like the next one the most as this game definitely fits to his chess style - searching for sharp positions with a focus on attack and tactics.
