Successful performance in the Belgian Championship
Last week the Belgian Youth Chess Championship was over.
U-10 category was extremely interesting for me as one of my students 8 y.o. Tymofii Fesenko was playing there ![]()
Tymofii played well and quite stable and before the last round was in the leading group (top-10).
And the fate of the entire tournament had to be decided in the last game. Tymofii played with a direct competitor - Toledo Hillel (before the game Hillel was 0.5 points ahead, so it was of a paramount importance to win that game).
In the Queen’s gambit Tymofii, who played with white pieces, applied the idea that we recently studied in the class, and got a big advantage, which was utilized in a stubborn struggle.
As a result, Tymofii scored 7 points out of 9 and shared 2nd place (just a little lost on additional indicators) and finally landed on the 3rd place.

Tymofii just recently obtained the 1st adult chess rank and now have another significant success ![]()
Congratulations to Tymofii and his parents on this wonderful achievement ![]()

From Tymofii's games I like the next one the most.
