Successful performance in the Belgian Championship
Last week the Belgian Youth Chess Championship was over.
U-10 category was extremely interesting for me as one of my students 8 y.o. Tymofii Fesenko was playing there
Tymofii played well and quite stable and before the last round was in the leading group (top-10).
And the fate of the entire tournament had to be decided in the last game. Tymofii played with a direct competitor - Toledo Hillel (before the game Hillel was 0.5 points ahead, so it was of a paramount importance to win that game).
In the Queen’s gambit Tymofii, who played with white pieces, applied the idea that we recently studied in the class, and got a big advantage, which was utilized in a stubborn struggle.
As a result, Tymofii scored 7 points out of 9 and shared 2nd place (just a little lost on additional indicators) and finally landed on the 3rd place.
Tymofii just recently obtained the 1st adult chess rank and now have another significant success
Congratulations to Tymofii and his parents on this wonderful achievement
From Tymofii's games I like the next one the most.
