The Future
Well, with this first blog I would like to point out my goals for the future as far as my chess life goes. First off, I'm the kind of person who enjoys studying chess at all hours of the day. I taught myself how to play chess when I was a junior in high school. That has been 10 years ago and I seriously can't think of anything else that has sparked my interest since. I have actually learned to read old notation for the sake of reading chess games that aren't shown in contemporary chess books. So, with all that said my goal for my chess future is to learn as much as I can about the game.
Secondly, I feel as if this game should be more popular than where it stands right now. Living in Georgia, I hear a lot about scholastic chess. I'm extremely thrilled about that fact. However, I hardly ever see chess training classes or whatnot dealing specifically with adults. Nor do I see a comfortable amount of trainers in this area. So, I feel that in the future I would like to make a difference in this aspect of chess.
Thirdly, and finally, I want to find others with as much interest in chess as I have. I am currently in the UGA chess club and Classic City Chess in Athens, GA but the level of interest is sort of under par in my eyes but that's just my opinion. I have met a couple whom I feel have a solid fascination in chess. These are the kinds of players I would like to meet. On the other hand, I am willing to meet anyone for the sake of friendship.
Anyways, I just wanted to put my future goals down in text for others to see and to just write my first blog. Comments, questions, and friendship are graciously welcome. Take care all.
