The Almighty Bongcloud

The Bongcloud is the one of the best openings in the world, if not the best. Invented by Lenny Bongcloud, it is played by many famous masters. Including @Hikaru , @GarryKasparov , @MagnusCarlsen ,and many more. I have waited for a good amount of time to finish this blog, and I was waiting for the perfect moment, because today is! March 15! The Bongcloud begins with e4, the most typical first move. Most players respond e5, as it is the most common e4 response. Now everyone is gonna say, yes we know, e4 e5, a Ruy Lopez or Giuoco Piano or a 4 knights game or something. But, catch this... YOU'RE WRONG! WRONG! The next move is of course the best, and makes up the bongcloud. *drumroll please* 2. Ke2!!

"What in the world?! Has rebus lost his mind? Has Hikaru lost his mind? Has Magnus lost his mind? Has everyone lost their minds? Ke2?! What is this crazy cloud-bonging whatever piece of trash?!" 

Let me clarify for you, the Bongcloud is NOT trash. It's better than... hmm... Ruy Lopez... Giuoco Piano... Queen's Gambit... English... just about any opening there is. But of course the Queen's Cloud and Hammerschlag are better... are they?

Now onto the question, "Rebus, why did you post this TODAY out of anyday?" Well today marks the birth of the Bongcloud on chess.com, meaning chess.com added the Bongcloud to its database today. And also Hikaru and Magnus bongclouding. Mar 15 will now be a special day on chess.com! If you don't believe me, go to opening explorer and play e4 e5 ke2. It shows the opening as the Bongcloud!
