Red Knight Chess Cafe - A Must Stop in Bangkok!
In August 2024, we started the Red Knight Chess Cafe, as an extension of our existing chess club in Bangkok, Thailand. It was our dream to open a modern Chess Cafe, a place in which chess players and enthusiast can come for a friendly game of chess in a unique chess ambiance. And what an impact it has made! It has quickly become a must stop place, not only for the chess community in Bangkok, but also for chess players from all around the world who are visiting Thailand, or just passing by. "I wish that a place like this exist where I come from" is something that we hear often from our overseas guests, both amateur players and chess Grandmasters, and it makes us proud and happy.

The Chess Cafe is open every day, and anyone can visit, order a cup of coffee and play some chess games with friends or other guests that may be there at the moment. We made sure to have a chess library for those who prefer to read, or to solve some puzzles while enjoying the relaxing atmosphere. Our designers did a fantastic work, making our vision a reality. Some chess quote that we really like, such as: "Chess is Life", and "Every Chess Master Was Once a Beginner" are engraved on our walls. And some friends, such as David Llada, generously offered their artwork, that gave our Cafe just the vibe that we wanted. We thank them all!
Red Knight Chess Cafe is located in the central part of Bangkok, on Sukhumvit Rd. 26. People who are in Bangkok for the first time often make a mistake and go to our chess club, instead of the chess cafe (both on Sukhumvit Road, but on different streets). To avoid making that mistake, please find "Bambini Villa" on google https://g.co/kgs/YDFcTBu. Our Cafe is located on the ground floor, where sometimes we have FIDE rated tournaments, such as the one on the photo below:
There is nothing that makes us more happy than meeting chess friends from all around the world. This blog post is too small to put in it hundreds of photos of our chess friends and to describe the real feeling of making new chess friends and enjoying talks about the game that we are so passionate about. I wrote this article in a hope that will reach chess players who intend to travel to Bangkok in near future. We would love to welcome you at our Chess Cafe!
