The Records and History of Chess Champions
Welcome everyone to my blog! There are many records in the World of Chess which have been created and broken and I am going to talk about them in this blog. I hope you will enjoy it.
1. The First World Chess Champion was Wilhelm Steinitz who is also regarded as the father of modern chess who became the world champion in 1886.
2. The oldest world champion was also Wilhelm Steinitz, he was the world champion at the age of 58 before he lost his title to Emanuel Lasker on 26 May, 1894.
3. Magnus Carlsen is the youngest World Champion ever, he became the World Champion at the age of 22 years against Viswanathan Anand in 2013.
4. Most titles of becoming the World Champion - Anatoly Karpov, Garry Kasparov and Emanuel Lasker, they all became the World Champion 6 times!
5. The highest rating in all formats is of Magnus Carlsen! Classic - 2882 Blitz - 2986 Rapid - 2919

7. Well do you know this? The Greatest Winning Streak at top level chess? - Bobby Fischer won, beating Taimanov 6-0 in the Quarter Final of 1971 Candidates , then next AGAIN 6-0 to Larsen and then with 4 draws in beginning and then 4 wins in a row against Petrosian!
8. Match of the 20th century- Spassky-Fischer 1972 is regarded as the Match of the century.
9. The first woman world champion and first female to reach #8 in the world! - Judit Polgar in 2005.
10. World Champion for the longest period - You might be thinking Garry Kasparov ? Right?? Well, it was Emanuel Lasker who was the world champion for 27 years from 1894 -1921!
11. The Shortest Game ever : Carlsen - Vidit 2019 Tata Steel Blitz , their game ended in just 5 moves! Have a look :

13. Youngest Grandmaster Ever : Sergey Karjakin is the youngest grandmaster ever by becoming a GM at the age of 12 years and 7 months.
Edit: Almost after 1 year of writing this blog, the record of the youngest GM ever is broken by Abhimanyu Mishra by achieving the feat at the age of just 12 years 4 months and 25 days old.
