Distance matters in chess!
Most of you do wonder, how is maths related to chess. It is related to chess like this, 8*8 is 64, ie. no. of squares in a board, each square's area is 1cm*1cm ie. 1 sq. cm etc. But, distance between the pieces also matter as a fact. I have demonstrated that beautifully in this game:-
I am black but sadly lost.
Lessons:-
1. It is always told to keep your king close to your rook when your opponent's knight is on board. I sacked my rook for a knight because the distance between my opponent's king and rook were a massive 3 squares which could not be tracked down in 1 move and I could freely take the rook, which effectively did me a knight up.
2. But, a knight is not enough to win any endgame. Black could've even salvaged a draw if I didn't greedily take the pawn with my knight, making it a massive 4 square difference between my knight and his pawn.
We learn from this game that keeping maths in mind while playing chess is important. Stay well stay safe everyone. Feel free to pm me in case of doubts!
