The Learning Curve
My childhood interest in chess has come alive. So it is with great pride I am able to report winning three games in a row with my Excalibur portable talking Deluxe Edition of The New York Times Edition!
At first I could win most games at the "easy" level and a few at the "advanced" level. Today, is my bragging breakthrough winning at the "hard" level. But I have no idea how this might translate into one of your numerical ratings.
With this set one can limit the program's "thinking time" to one second. There are 35 level of regulation play and while learning I have not been able to access and utilize all the levels. Other levels are Tournament, Sudden Death, Timed matches, etc.
Any comments?
